...just like every other day.
Just felt like passing this along. It is tragic and unless Obama gets the United States deeply back into a humane foreign affairs policy, we will be reading the same thing about AIDS in four years.
Andy Borowitz of TruthDig provided the results of this recent poll conducted by Duh Magazine:
Factcheck.Org is a great place to get almost instintaneous feedback on the GOP convention speakers and the lies they attempt to perpetuate. Here what they said about Lieberman's and Thompson's speeches last night.
Rodger Schlickeisen, President of Defenders of Wildlife, sent out this appeal today to stop the Bush-Cheney administration from undermining the Endangered Species Act in the last days of their term of office.
...just another false alarm?
The Neocons who got us into the Iraq war are still at work apparently ready to put their mark on the next president, be it Obama or McCain, before he takes office. However, this particular plan seems directed at loading the Obama administration with a new war and economic problems galore, simply because Obama is not ready to do Neocon bidding.
Writing from Ireland in the European Tribune and Booman Tribune, Frank Schnittger (Obama's election to lose?) provided a summary of reasons why McCain might still win, in spite of Obama's momentum and appearances to the contrary.
Here are some theories (I know they have been covered before, but their collection here gives food for thought):
This communication was sent out by email from Citizens for Fair Legislation this morning appealing for support of its petition for our government NOT TO BOYCOTT the unity government recently negotiated by Fatah and Hamas.
SUPPORT PEACE FOR PALESTINE BY NOT BOYCOTTING THE UNITY GOVERNMENT, it said.
The founder of the Israeli organization, Israel Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD), is a guy named Jeff Halper. Along with Naim Ateek, Halper recently spoke at the National Press Club (February 12, 2007) and provided his latest analysis of the prospects for peace in Palestine. His article, The Problem With Israel, was posted at Daily Kos sa few months ago, where it received a lot of attention. It provided a unique understanding about Israel's intentions regarding a Palestinian state. These intentions are seldom what they seem to be. He called Israel's actions over the decades "muddling through" by "conflict management" rather than making any real movement toward peace. Israeli leaders talk it up, in other words, but always seem to fall short when peace is threatening. At the same time, building on the West Bank continues as if there is an intention to stay (http://www.icahd.org/eng/).
